This child who came to my house tonight is literally the funniest human being on the planet. She complimented me on having both lollipops and mini Three Musketeers available because “a lot of houses these days don’t give you a fruit flavor option.” She was very solemn about this.

This is what’s so cool about AO3. I read Monster by Christopher Pike on a long road trip three years ago and decided to write a ficlet for it. There was no fandom tag on AO3. Three years later there still aren’t any other works for this fandom, so it’s DEFINITELY small. I wrote this story never expecting anyone to read it but three years later I get this comment; and I check the fic, and it’s got 4 kudos and 3 bookmarks!

When you write a fic like this, for a 90s YA horror book, you know you’re throwing your writing into the void 😆 but the beauty of AO3 is that anyone can find that fic, the same day you posted it or three years later. Ack I just love it so much guys, idk. There’s no algorithm. You don’t have to worry about ratios or promoting your work or advertising. You can just write the most random fucking fic and toss it out there, and someone will actually find it. That’s so damn cool.

Ao3 has got to be one of the few places that has the highest internet traffic between the hours of midnight to 4 a.m.
